Over 5 months since Pokemon Legends: Z-A's release, Home compatibility finally lets you offload your shiny-stuffed boxes ahead of Pokemon Champions

A new update to Pokemon Home has, at long last, added support for Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Five months after the new RPG launched, you can finally upload your 'mons to the storage service, and you'll even get some Alpha starters as a reward for your troubles.

Pokemon Home version 4.0.0 launched earlier today, offering support for both Legends: Z-A and the forthcoming Pokemon Champions. The mobile version of Home, specifically, has also added Challenges and stickers, and updated the Pokedex for each of the newly supported games.

As noted by Pokemon fansite Serebii, once you upload a Legends: Z-A Pokemon into Home, you'll be able to select a Mystery Gift which will grant you an Alpha Chikorita, Alpha Tepig, and Alpha Totodile. Those are the three starters for Legends Z-A, and fits with Home's previous giveaways of starters from recently released games. And, unfortunately, it also still requires you to use the mobile version of the Home app.

But hey, the real bonus is finally getting Legends: Z-A support in Home. I understand to an extent why Nintendo and The Pokemon Company hold off on letting you use Home with new games for a few months, since it forces players to focus on the new games for a bit before integrating their catches into their broader Pokemon collections.

Yet it's still always a bummer having to wait for the new games to become part of the broader Pokemon ecosystem. I say that as someone purely interested in Pokedex completion, but the shiny hunting sickos have had it even harder. Shiny hunting in Pokemon Legends: Z-A is easier than ever, so hunters' in-game boxes have been stuffed to the gills – as evidenced by all those piles of Pancham and Skiddo from the Zone 3 exploit back at launch. Well, at least those Pokemon have a bit more room to grow now.
