After nearly 1 year, viral Steam horror hit Lethal Company is back with another big update boasting 3 new creatures that are sure to leave my pals and me screaming
It's been a while, but Lethal Company's solo developer Zeekerss has finally unveiled a big, brand-new update for his smash-hit horror game on Steam – and he's already got more up his sleeve for the future, too.
Nearly a year has passed now since the last major Lethal Company patch, Version 70 (also dubbed the "Incubating Update"), dropped in June of 2025. Although we've seen a few more minor fixes roll out since then, there hasn't been anything quite as big – until this week, that is.
As Zeekerss unveils alongside some official new patch notes on Steam, Version 80 is here (in beta so far, anyway), and boy, is it packing.
"V80 brings a complete rework of March's exterior," as the dev explains, "a wide range of bugfixes, performance improvements, and other improvements, three new creatures (and a returning creature), a few new rooms for the factory interior, and the utility slot."
Sounds like a lot, if you ask me – but Zeekerss isn't done with Lethal Company, or adding new features and content to the beloved indie gem, just yet.
"This update isn't quite as content-heavy as it is feature-focused, but it sets up the game with all sorts of under-the-hood fixes and adjustments to fix things I've broken over the past few updates, so I'll be able to think more about just adding new content real soon," as he says.
"This is just the start. Where V70 was mostly just for the costly snow moons, this update focuses on the forest moons, and I also hope it makes the game better for newcomers."
The dev then provides a full rundown of all the additions and tweaks to come with Version 80, as well as an eerie trailer that I can't get enough of. The dark, foggy woods coupled with the static-y music, ominous messages, and radio-esque voice… this is what Lethal Company is all about. You know, scaring the ever-living heck out of us and all of our pals. I can hear a fox-like scream at around 0:27, too – welcome back, Kidnapper Fox...?
I'm not the only fan looking forward to having their pants scared off by new and returning creatures alike, either, and the trailer's comments prove as much. As one person excitedly puts it, "FINALLY, A LETHAL COMPANY UPDATE!" Finally, indeed.
