Scream 7 exclusive featurette goes behind the scenes as director Kevin Williamson breaks down Ghostface's most gruesome kill

Scream fans will finally be able to get their hands on the highest-grossing installment in the franchise, as new horror sequel Scream 7 has locked down a digital release date.

Scream 7 will be available to buy or rent on digital on March 31, 2026, packed with over 40 minutes of killer bonus content, including deleted scenes, a music video, and more. In celebration, we have an exclusive look at one of the bonus features, which includes a closer look at how the team pulled off one of Ghostface's goriest murders.

In the clip, director Kevin Williamson explains how he and star Neve Campbell wanted to rein in the amount of gore from previous movies, but then realised that franchise creator Wes Craven "was a little gory," so they went ahead with one of the most shocking kills of the movie. The scene takes place pretty early on, when Ghostface breaks into Tatum's school and starts their murder spree with [spoiler alert!] Mckenna Grace's character, Hannah Thurman. Check out the full featurette below.

The clip above is just one of many bonus features available. Further features include a look at how the team remade the iconic Macher house, Isabel May's journey to becoming the franchise's new final girl, and how stunt co-ordinator Jennifer Badger tackled that tense scene in the Evans house where Sidney Prescott and her husband faced the killers. Plus, you'll also be able to watch the extended version of the 'Twisting The Knife' music video by Ice Nine Kills and Mckenna Grace.

Both the digital and physical releases also include a bunch of deleted scenes, including Chloe and Lucas' budding romance, Tatum saying goodbye to her boyfriend Ben, and cut scenes between Sidney and Jessica. There is also a scene that suggests that Scott from the opening scene may have been involved with the killers. Interesting.

The new sequel welcomes back Campbell's final girl as she finds that moving far away from Woodsboro and starting a brand new life is not enough to escape her dark past. The movie also stars Courteney Cox, Matthew Lillard, Joel McHale, and more. For more on the movie, see our Scream 7 review and Scream 7 ending explained.

Scream 7 will be available to purchase on digital from March 31, and on DVD, 4K UHD, Blu-Ray, Limited Edition 4K UHD, and Blu-Ray Steelbook from June 16, 2026. For more, check out our ranking of the best Scream movies, and keep up with upcoming horror movies heading your way.
