As the Wii U's most underrated JRPG Xenoblade Chronicles X becomes the first in the series to get a Switch 2 Edition, fans are begging for the main trilogy to get the same treatment: "MY LIFE IS YOURS"

Out of nowhere, Nintendo has revealed that Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition both has a Switch 2 Edition and it's available right now, and hot on the heels of the shadowdrop, fans of the beloved JRPG series are praying that the main trilogy could be next.

Xenoblade Chronicles X broke free from Wii U jail last March with its excellent Switch 1 port, but now, Switch 2 users can now buy an upgrade pack to improve the open world JRPG's visuals even further. Per a Nintendo press release, "The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of the game adds up to 4K resolution at a smooth frame rate of up to 60 fps when playing in TV mode and up to 1080p and up to 60 fps in handheld mode."

While the changes themselves aren't exactly wild or unexpected, it's still very nice to see the game get a bit more TLC, especially after it was left forgotten on the Wii U for so long. What's more, though, this marks the very first Xenoblade game to get a Switch 2 upgrade, which as one fan says, means "the door has been opened for Xenoblade Chronicles 1/2/3" to get the same treatment, and the sentiment across the fanbase is loud and clear: "I don't care, I'd buy them all again."

"NOW GIVE THIS TO THE MAIN TRILOGY," one pleads to Nintendo on Twitter, adding that if the devs do, "MY LIFE IS YOURS."

"DO IT FOR THE REST OF THE SERIES," another demand reads in the trailer's YouTube comment section, as another writes: "Now we need to do this for the rest of the Xenoblade Chronicles series especially 2."

For now, Nintendo hasn't made any mention of the main trilogy getting similar upgrades, so we'll just have to watch this space – I'm sure the fact that this particular upgrade got shadowdropped is going to have fans behaving very normally as they build their hopes up for random releases for the other games. While the Xenoblade Chronicles X upgrade pack is available digitally now, a physical Switch 2 Edition is also launching on April 16.
