Sins of Sinister: Dominion closes the book on the next big X-Men event this April
Marvel Comics is about to kick off its 'Sins of Sinister' X-Men event in which three core X-Men titles - Immortal X-Men, X-Men Red, and Nightcrawlers - will be replaced with limited series tying into the story of the world remade in Mister Sinister's image.
Though the story is still on the horizon, beginning in just a few weeks, Marvel is now showing off the cover of April 26's Sins of Sinister: Dominion #1 from writer Kieron Gillen and artists Lucas Werneck and Paco Medina, seen here.
"A thousand years of hell and damnation comes to end with the loudest scream in history and for the truly guilty, there is no escape," reads Marvel's description of Sins of Sinister: Dominion #1. "Can the future change the present, or will we just make all the same mistakes again? Either way, the present will have to live with the future's sins."
At the same time, as the event begins this month, the Marvel is also showing off the covers of the final issues of the three titles that will be replaced during 'Sins of Sinister.'
In 'Sins of Sinister,' Mister Sinister's villainous tendencies rear their heads in a big way, with the longtime X-Men enemy using a combination of his own science and mutant powers stolen from others to fully remake the Marvel Universe.
The effect will be something similar to the classic 1995 X-Men event 'Age of Apocalypse' which brought the temporary cancellation and relaunch of the entire X-Men line as a series of new titles tying into an alternate reality created by Apocalypse.

The inspiration for Sins of Sinister, Age of Apocalypse, is one of the best X-Men stories ever.
