Fortnite patch notes v19.30 hotfix brings back Bows from the Primal era and starts Bownanza Week

The latest Fortnite patch notes are here to tell us what's new in the v19.30 hotfix update, and perhaps due to the recent Presidents' Day holiday in the US coupled with the significant gameplay changes brought in with last week's main patch, there's not a huge amount to report. We've got some familiar weapons from a previous season in Fortnite making a return, bringing a themed set of limited-time quests with them, so if you're keen to discover more about the latest changes then here's everything you need to know from the Fortnite patch notes.

The single big change introduced with the Fortnite patch notes v19.30 hotfix is the limited-time return of bows, which were last seen during the Primal Season 6 of Chapter 2. Available for one week only, you can find Primal Flame Bows, Primal Stink Bows, Mechanical Explosive Bows, and Mechanical Shockwave Bows in Chests and as floor loot, along with the Arrows needed to fire them which can also be obtained from Ammo Boxes. This Bownanza Week will run until 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm GMT on March 1, at which point a new themed week will begin.

Along with returning the bows, these Fortnite patch notes also introduce the Bownanza Quests for one week only. These are as follows:

  • Impulse wildlife using a Mechanical Shockwave Bow in different matches (2)
  • Hunt wildlife using a bow (3)
  • Hit IO forces using a Primal Flame Bow (7)
  • Eliminate opponents using a Mechanical Explosive Bow (3)
  • Damage players using a Primal Stink Bow (250)

To get the specific effect from each bow, such as impulsing, setting fire to an area, creating an explosive blast, or generating a cloud of poison gas, you need to fully draw the arrow back first before you fire it. If you need to find some IO force to attack then make your way to the Fortnite Mole Team Drill Sites or head inside the base at Covert Canyon.
