Red Dead Online patch notes: Earn big with the Naturalist role and Call to Arms

The latest set of Red Dead Online patch notes are here, kicking off an unnaturally good week to be a Naturalist.

The wildlife-focused role gets a boost through October 11 with double RDO$ and Role XP for tracking and sedating creatures out in the wild, as well as for selling their samples. All Red Dead Online players who log in this week will get three free predator baits and herbivore baits each, which should make finding your little (or big) friends a little easier, and Naturalists who have hit rank 5 will also get 5 blending tonics and 200 sedative varmint cartridges.

Turn in 3 samples to Harriet Davenport and she'll reward you with an extra 2,000 role XP and an offer for 40% off a novice or promising Naturalist role item. Meanwhile, if you've already burned that particular bridge, you can get an offer for 40% off an established or distinguished role item by hunting and skinning any legendary animal.

Crafting an item at Gus' store will get you an offer for 30% off an elephant rifle and 50 free rounds of nitro express ammo - finally, if you pick up The Quick Draw Club No. 4 you'll also get 5 legendary animal pheromones and an offer for 10 gold bars off the price of a sample kit.

Beyond the wonders of the natural world, you'll get 50% extra RDO$ and XP for playing Call to Arms maps; the maps will be limited exclusively to Blackwater through Thursday, moving over to MacFarlane's Ranch from Friday to Monday.
