GTA Online patch notes: triple rewards and excessively patriotic bonuses for Independence Day

This week's GTA Online patch notes are about as American as it gets, for better or worse, as it's Independence Day in Los Santos and Blaine County. 

Are you really American if you aren't willing to sacrifice your livelihood - to risk life and limb - in pursuit of limitless wealth? From now until July 7, GTA Online is doling out triple rewards for all Mobile Operations Missions, so get in touch with your inner warlord and talk to Agent 14 to get set up. If you don't have your Mobile Operations Center yet, you can get one with all of its upgrades and modifications from Warstock Cache & Carry for 40% off the normal price for the week.

Or, if you're on a competitive streak but your middle name's still Danger, you can also earn triple rewards by taking to the skies in a fleet of fighter jets for Stockpile in Adversary mode.

Everywhere's really, really hot right now, so cool off by plunging down to the ocean floor in search of treasure chests and hidden caches, as both are yielding double the usual GTA$ and RP for the week of Independence Day. Of course, unless you're a really proficient diver, you'll need a submarine for the task, and luckily the decommissioned Kosatka submarine is 25% off right now, as are all its possible customization options. And if you're more comfortable on land, check around Cayo Perico island and you're sure to find some treasure there too.

This week at the Diamond Casino & Resort is - you guessed it - an American muscle car wrapped in stars and stripes. The top prize on the podium is the Declasse Hotring Sabre aptly customized with the Patriot Beer Livery "for maximum America points."

Finally, before we get to the discounts, Rockstar is handing out a themed freebie for anyone willing to log into GTA Online this week. If you don't live in the states, you might not understand, or even be aware of, the sustained prominence of late-night talk radio here, but believe me: truckers, conspiracy theorists, and probably my dad will appreciate the Blaine County Talk Radio Tee, which is free of charge this week for all players.
