Call of Duty Warzone patch notes: New Payload game mode, operator, and wheelies inbound
The latest Call of Duty: Warzone patch notes are out now, outlining what's in today's Warzone update, including a brand new game mode among many other fixes and upgrades.
The latest update dropped July 14 and introduces Warzone’s first objective-based game mode - Payload. This new game mode sees two teams of 20 players go up against each other in a race against the clock. Payload sees players tasked with escorting two caravans of vehicles through a series of checkpoints or with sabotaging the other team trying to do so.
Players can also build, or destroy, any barriers put in place by the opposing team and purchase buildings to aid in the mission. The developer has also given future players a heads up adding that players should collect any Contracts they find around Verdansk for a leg up on the competition. Payload will appear in the upcoming Featured Playlist Rotation as part of Call of Duty: Warzone’s Season Four Reloaded.
Elsewhere in the patch notes, players can look forward to the following gameplay alterations:
- Loot that spawns across Verdansk has been changed so that it now features new Gulag loadouts
- The Specialist Token is now a little easier to find in core battle royale mode
- The Sentry Gun Killstreak can be found in Red Door Control Rooms.
Speaking of red doors, the patch notes post also features a cryptic update on them which reads: “Further intel suggests that these Red Doors will appear [[REDACTED]] and take you to [[REDACTED]].”
Fans of the game can also look forward to meeting a new operator in the form of Weaver, who will soon be available as part of Call of Duty: Warzone’s Tracer pack: Weaver Operator Bundle on the store. This bundle will include the “Kremlin’s Eye” Operator Skin (which is based on his original Black Ops incarnation) as well as three Legendary Weapon Blueprints and a new Finishing Move.
As for other more general upgrades, Raven Software has added new Prestige items including calling cards and emblems. Perhaps more exciting though is the dirt bike upgrades being added to the game which allow players to now perform wheelies. To do this, players will need to be accurate with their positioning as the bike now supports learning forwards and backward in the air for that perfect landing.
