The Attack on Titan episode 73 release date was originally set for Sunday, March 14 but has since been delayed indefinitely.

An earthquake in Japan has necessitated a slight delay for the new Attack on Titan episode. Japan broadcaster NHK was unable to finish airing the episode, with the broadcast being interrupted on Sunday in Japan local time.

As such, Attack on Titan episode 73 has been held back internationally on Crunchyroll and other streaming services such as Hulu and Funimation. Funimation's dubbed release (now up to episode 68) still continue unaffected.

Crunchyroll has released a statement on the delay on Twitter. It reads: "Attack on Titan Final Season episode 73 will be postponed, due to a earthquake that occurred in Wakayama prefecture in Japan. We are sending our love to the residents there."

A replacement Attack on Titan episode 73 release date has not yet been announced, though there are two likely possibilities: one is an imminent drop in the early part of the week. If that happens, keep an eye both on here and on Crunchyroll's social media.

The more probable outcome is everything gets moved back a week. Episode 73 would then land on March 21, with the show ending two weeks later.

The air time may also change. Daylight Savings is now in effect in the US, meaning they're an hour ahead of usual. The current listed time is 8:45pm GMT in the UK, meaning 1:45pm Pacific/4:45pm Eastern in the US - a slight change from normal scheduling.

The Attack on Titan season 4 release schedule has kinda been revealed. And it's not good news. As per AnimeTV on Twitter, Attack on Titan season 4 is currently scheduled for 16 episodes, though that hasn't officially been confirmed.

Whether that's going to mean a second part will follow this current batch of episodes it's unclear. Tellingly, it echoes Twitter user Spytrue – who has been on the money with insider info and tweeted out in November that the current run is set for 16 episodes.

So, what's next after the 16 episodes? Attack on Titan is unlikely to wrap everything up in the next three-to-four weeks. Our advice? Keep your eyes peeled on the sixteenth episode's end-credits for an announcement about the show's future. For now, here's every episode that's aired so far - and when we can expect the rest.
