Call of Duty: Warzone patch notes: Shipwreck arrives in Verdansk, new modes, and weapons

The Call of Duty: Warzone patch notes are here to introduce Season 2 on February 25, and there's a ton of changes and improvements to delve into.

First of all, as you can see from the full list of Warzone patch notes on the Call of Duty website, there are a fair amount of playlist updates. Plunder Blood Money Quads and Mini Royale Trios/Resurgence Quads on Rebirth Island are out, and in comes Plunder Blood Money Trios and Resurgence Extreme on Rebirth Island.

Next up, there's brand new loot and weapons spawning all over Verdansk. Chiefly, the FARA 83 assault rifle and the LC10 SMG have been introduced to the loot pool, but elsewhere players that are continually in the gas will suffer more damage over time, and all Warzone Intel missions have been removed.

There's a big double XP weekend launching tomorrow on February 26 for all players across both Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War. Starting on Friday, you'll constantly be earning both double player XP and double weapon XP through till March 1. PlayStation players get a 24-hour head start on the double XP though, as it kicks off later today on February 25.

There are obviously significant changes to the Warzone battle pass with the launch of Season 2. As you'll no doubt know by now, there are 100 total tiers to progress through, and starting at tier one, you'll unlock new Operator Naga, and a new Operator skin for Park. Next, there's the FARA 83 assault rifle at tier 15, and the LC 10 SMG at tier 31, and the Warlord Operator skin for Naga at tier 100.

The Warzone map itself is changing with the new patch notes for Season 2. The big new addition for the new season is Shipwreck, where the cargo tanker has run aground in the southern portion of the Verdansk map. Elsewhere, Missile Silos have been uncovered underneath three separate locations throughout the city in the southern half of the map.
